Storytelling is an art.
As humans, we all have experiences, moments and feelings that we want to share.
As a writer, I take inspiration in real life. When I feel it, the words flow naturally. So most of my stories are true in nature. They are honest tales seen through my eyes.
I grew up in a small town of Guwahati, Assam in a middle income household. My parents Kalpana and Prafulla were very protective of me, being the youngest and the only daughter. Naturally most of my childhood was shielded from outside influence. But I have come to realize that shielding doesn’t really work with emotions. I am an emotional person and even though I didn’t have a lot of out of home experiences growing up, I had enough to tell a few tales.
I have a purpose with writing. I want my readers to feel emotions through my words and also to come out of that experience knowing myself and themselves a little better. Often times we are so busy that we don’t get to feel our emotions wholly. I want them to utilize this time in doing that. While I am being vulnerable by sharing my deepest emotions with my readers, I want them to feel that as well and know that they are secure after all. These emotions are what make us human. So simply let it flow.
As rightly said by K. Tolnoe
“Every emotion has a story to tell”
